Is it a hoax? Thomas Beatie made a big deal about announcing that he was a pregnant man with an article in the Advocate.  The story was immediately questioned as a hoax that was designed to only bring attention to transgender people.  Would there be anything wrong with that, if that were indded the case?

He released a photo that has made the rounds all over the World Wide Web that is to the right.  That made many believe that it was a hoax as well was that he scheduled his press conference for April 1, and that caused many observers and skeptics to toss out the theory that this was nothing more than an elaborate April Fool’s day prank.

One neighbor is very skeptical and outright calls it a hoax.  So is the story of a pregnant Oregon man really a hoax?  We may find out on April Fool’s Day.  The CNN report is here.

Here’s what a neighbor said earlier. “Quite frankly, I think it’s a hoax,” said neighbor Ron Schlieper, according to a report from CNN.  “I saw him a few days ago and he didn’t look like that.”  The neighbor had viewed the photo that was released with the story from the Advocate website.
